Me in Short
As theatre director I have been busy this autumn/winter directing five short new plays at five London Fringe venues: the Battersea Arts Centre, the Cockpit Theatre, the Lost Theatre, the Etcetera Theatre and the Brockley Jack Studio Theatre. I’ve run workshops/rehearsed readings of Hedda Gabler (Ibsen) and The Seagull (Chekhov) for actors at Transmission Workshop and for Charm Offensive as well as a workshop performance of new play Talk to Frank at The Others, Stoke Newington. I run devising workshops for children’s organisations in Islington.
A former secondary-school teacher and experienced private tutor, I work as a fiction writing coach, offering three low-cost one-to-one services for fiction writers plus hands-on workshops on writing skills. Here’s what my clients are saying about my coaching services.
I am a fiction writer (children’s/teen fiction) and have performed with various writing groups in central London venues.
I spent six years at the BBC and Teachers TV as project manager and content producer on multimedia-based education projects. I worked for two years at the Institute of the Future of the Book, latterly as Education Manager, researching and producing digital publishing projects for publishers, writers and schools.
I co-authored the print-on-demand project 24 hr Book, meeting the ambitious target of writing, publishing and launching a novel within a weekend. For a year I collaborated to produce websites for the works of new writers. I’ve established friendly contact with print-on-demand companies, publishers, new media agencies and writers’ organisations.
